Survey of Ploughed Plots in Medieval Agsu Town and Mehravan Castle

MIRAS Social Organization arranged 3-day cultural heritage camp with the purpose to survey ploughed plots in Medieval Agsu Town and Mehravan Castle on 1-3 November, 2013. The ploughed sites were considered and observed with the participation of archaeologists.
The camp aimed at defining ancient living traces and artifacts in the area and explaining the significance of ethnographical work to students and pupils.
The pupils of Agsu region secondary school No. 4 joined the camp along with students of Baku State University, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and Anadolu University.
The traces of handicraft shops were also encountered parallel with living traces during explorations in north part, aside fortress walls of Medieval Agsu town and rather much surface materials were taken.
Artifacts on 4-7th century were found during searches in ploughed sites inside Mehravan castle, the first castle of Mehranyds dynasty in Bayimli Village.
The students were commissioned to write an article on the basis of obtained information and pupils to write composition. In the end the camp participants were given different gifts.
