II International Symposium of Turkic Arts, History and Folklore Held in Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 6-8th April, 2014 II International Symposium of Turkic Arts, History and Folklore was co-organized in capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo  by Turkish Handicraft Research and Application Center of Selçuk University of Turkey, MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage and  International University of Sarajevo. More than 50 scholars from different scientific institutions of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Iran made interesting reports. 
Ahmet Aytac, the chairman of Symposium Organization Committee opened the conference with introductory remark. Rector of  International University of Sarajevo, Yucel Oğurlu welcomed the participants, wished success in the conference work. Co-chairmen of the Symposium Organization Committee, Dr. Fariz Khalilli (Azerbaijan), senior lecturer Dr. Osman Kunduracı (Turkey) and senior lecturer Dr. Muhiddin Mulalich (Bosnia and Herzegovina) touched upon the issues on preparation of conference and high-level of academic organization in their speeches.


Report of associate member of National Academy of Science of Azerbaijan (NASA), well-known architect Jafar Giyasi  on "creative activity of Architect Ajam Agha "; Professor Gafar Jabiyev, chief researcher of Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of NASA and vice rector of Azerbaijan Teachers Institute, PhD Fariz Khalilli spoke about "Turkic-Islamic Monuments in Medieval Agsu Town and around (khanegah, tomb and graves)"; Professor of Azerbaijan Economic University Abbas Seyidov made report on "View to old Turkic morality "; Professor Kamil Ibrahimov, chief department of Administration of Icherisheher State History Architectural Reserve "Human, animal and bird images on potter ware revealed in Baku and their relation with weaving"; Professor Vafa Guliyeva, assistant of chairman of Administration of Icherisheher State History Architectural Reserve on "Mahammad Mosque"; deputy director of National Museum of History of Azerbaijan of NASA, PhD on history Habiba Aliyeva- "Ancient Turkic traces in archaeological and epigraph monuments in Azerbaijan"; deputy chairman of MIRAS Social Organization, Arzu Soltan- "Prosaic works of Fuzuli”; post-graduate of NASA Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law, Elmira Abasova- "Art depiction of natural cults in folklore sources”.
The reports of scientists from Selçuk University, Kocaeli University, Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Ushak University, Celal Bayar University, Erzurum Atatürk University, Topqapı Palace Museum and others caused great interest at the conference.


During the final session led by Professor Gafar Jabiyev rector of the University, Professor Yucel Ogurlu, Professor Ozer Kanburoğlu, senior lecturer Yaşar Erdemir, senior lecturer Osman Kunduraçı, PhD Fariz Khalilli and Ahmet Aytaç shared their impressions on the conference.
“Art of Turkic arts” exhibition and posters submitted to the conference were shown in 
 International University of Sarajevo during the event. The posters of Azerbaijani scholars were also hung. 
Professor Gafar Jabiyev was rewarded ‘award of contribution to science and art” of Selcuk University each year traditionally. The organizers presented one another plaquettes and presents.

The participants familiarized with historical places and sights of interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina on last day of the conference.
