Intellectuals Want Conduct of Archaeological Explorations in Beylagan

Continuance of archaeological explorations conducted one time in medieval Agsu town and implementation of conservation work would be very important step in the line of study and promotion of our history, development of cultural tourism in this region. This thought was sounded at the seminar “on medieval urban culture and Beylagan” co-arranged by MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage and Beylagan Youth Enlightement and Social Development Public Union held on 28th March 2013.
The purpose of the event held with support of Beylagan regional Executive Power and Beylagan region culture and tourism department was to share the significance of investigations conducted in medieval towns of Azerbaijan, as well as Beylagan from standpoint of study of our history with the seminar participants, particularly, youth.
The seminar was opened by Zaur Guliyev, the chairman of Beylagan Youth Enlightement and Social Development Public Union. Later chairman of MIRAS Organization, PhD Fariz Khalilli spoke about “medieval Agsu town practice in the development of archaeological tourism in Azerbaijan”, deputy chairman of MIRAS, Arzu Soltan on “main activities of MIRAS Social Organization in promotion of cultural heritage”, scientific worker of NASA National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, Aida Ismayilova made a report on “the role of Beylagan town in the study of medieval urban culture in Azerbaijan”, NASA candiate for a degree, principal of Beylagan region seconary school No.1, Vugar Abbasov “edutation of medieval Beylagan town history in secondary schools”, historian Asif Jafarly about “history of Beylagan region in the eyes of regional historians”, specialist in folklore Samadkhan Beylaganly “Foklore of Beylagan”.
The event, which was held in Haydar Aliyev Center, was summarized with performance of MIRAS music group.
The participants visited Beylagan History and Local-Lore Museum and Orangala State Preserve.
