YOCOCU (YOuth in COnservation of CUltural heritage) was born in 2008 with the aim to realize a network among young professionals and researchers, working in different fields of Cultural Heritage. 

 

 

MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage arranged open sky reading on 3rd April 2013 on the occasion of International Children's Book Day.

 The chairman of MIRAS, PhD Fariz Khalilli spoke about the history of events committed against Azerbaijani Turks in 1918. There dealt with mass massacre in Baku, Guba, Shamakhi, Lankaran, Garabagh, Nakhchievan, Yerevan, South Azerbaijan and in other places where Azerbaijani people are resided; the work of Extraordinary Investigation Commission according to which documents confirming genocide

Continuance of archaeological explorations conducted one time in medieval Agsu town and implementation of conservation work would be very important step in the line of study and promotion of our history, development of cultural tourism in this region. This thought was sounded at the seminar “on medieval urban culture and Beylagan” co-arranged by MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage and Beylagan Youth Enlightement and Social Development Public Union held on 28th March 2013. 

 Since this year 10th March is marked officially as National Day of Theatre in Azerbaijan. MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage and Baku Children’s Theatre presented theatre to audience which they jointly prepared on that day, i.e. 10th March.
Thus, presentation of “Ashkhas” play by Abdulla Shaig Talibzade known as known as an enlightener, a cultural figure, a poet, a prosaist, a playwright, a specialist in literature and a translator in the literary-social thought history of Azerbaijan took place currently at H. Sarabski Cultural house where Baku Children’s Theatre is situated. Art director and the head of the theatre and the spectacle’s producer Intigam Soltan gave information to the audience about project “Baku Children’s Theatre hand in hand with MIRAS”.

 MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage announced art competition among youth, students and schoolchildren over the republic in order to immortalize Khojaly tragedy and bring to notice of young generation. On 25th February, 2013 “Khojaly via memories and works of art” exhibition was arranged at school No. 129 consisted of works of art submitted.

 On 14th February 2013 Black Sea Tourism Fair was opened in Ordu town of Turkey. 55 organizations from 11 cities of Black Sea region along with Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Kyrgyzstan joined the fair which is for the first time organized in this town.
Azerbaijan is represented there by MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage and Heritage Travel Tour Comp.
Ordu town governor Orhan Duzgun, Samsun city governor Husssein Aksoy, Sinop governor Ahmet Chengiz, Amasia governor Abdul Jalil Oz, Giresun City governor Dursun Ali Shahin, Ordu town garnison commander police colonel Sharaf Chakmak and known businessmen participated at the opening ceremony held in Ordu Culture and Tourism Center.

 1st International Conference on Cultural Heritage, Media and Tourism was arranged in touristic city of Macedonia, Ohrid on 18-20th January, 2013. The conference was co-organized by Institute for Socio-cultural Anthropology of Macedonia, University for Audio-Visual Arts, ESRA- Skopje, Paris, New York and Euro-Asian Academy for Television and Radio, Moscow, Russia. Nearly 60 reporters from 12 countries, including Macedonia, Great Britain, Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Montenegro, Ukraine, Lithuania, Greece and others took part at the conference. Azerbaijan was represented by 9-people from Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Teachers’ Institute and MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage.

MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage held an event on occasion of 3-year anniversary of its establishment attended by MIRAS members, community and media representatives. The event started with the presentation of report of the organization’s 2012-year activity and 2013-year work plan.
