MIRAS Organization Board Held Meeting at Egyptian Cultural Center

On 26th November, 2015 members of Board of MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage visited Egyptian Cultural Center of embassy of Egypt to Azerbaijan. There was held discussions on subject “The role of Islamic history and culture in Azerbaijani-Egyptian relations".
Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Egypt in Azerbaijan and Director of the Embassy’s Cultural Centre, Dr. Ahmed Sami Abdelfattah Elaydy familiarized the members of MIRAS Board with the Center’s conference hall, classrooms, a rich library and mobile exhibition materials. It was noted that, Arabic language and literature are taught and free conversation club operates in the Centre. There are more than 8000 Arabic, Azerbaijani and English books, they were e-catalogued and are at disposal of students. Dr. Ahmed Sami speaks Azerbaijani language very well and is expert on Azerbaijani studies in Arabic world. He translated a number of Azerbaijani works into Arabic. After acquaintance with Centre, the discussions were held in round table. Dr. Ahmed Sami talking about the work carried out by the Centre till nowadays, Egypt-Azerbaijani relations and common values said that there exists Azerbaijani language and literature section in Ain Shams University and over 100 Egyptians study there. It was noted that, rather much work has been done in Egypt for recognition of Garabagh realities and Khojaly genocide.
Chairman of MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage, Dr. Fariz Khalilli introduced the MIRAS Board members. Later he stated his interest in signing a protocol of collaboration with the Center. Up to now Egyptian scientists participated at the conferences in Azerbaijan and MIRAS members took part in the course held in Cairo. He recalled the Egyptian doctorate Mona Zedan’s participation at 1st International Youth Forum of Cultural Heritage and Tourism and 1st International Tarakama Charshanba Folklore Festival. Fariz Khalilli stating mausoleum and school of Ibrahim Gulshani, medieval thinker from Barda in Garabagh is located in Cairo said that there is large need for wide study of traces of Azerbaijani material and moral heritage in Egypt. Professor Gafar Jabiyev talked about archaeological explorations in Agsu, Islam archaeology’s widening in the world and Azerbaijan’s recognition well via Agsu, Shamkir and Gabala. He invited the employees of Egypt Cultural Centre to Medieval Agsu Town Archaeological Tourism Complex.
Professor Shikar Gasimov spoke about wide relations of Azerbaijan and Egypt in independence years. He appreciated highly brotherhood of Galubiyya province and Absheron region and the work done in this direction. Afterwards, the books of MIRAS Social Organization were presented as gift to the library of Egypt Cultural Centre.
