The Fourth International Shusha Symposium on Historical Places and Monuments took place in Shusha with the organization of the Miras Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage, winner of a special competition dedicated to the "Year of Shusha" with the support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organization Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the symposium, more than 70 scientists and researchers from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Italy, North Macedonia, Georgia, Iran, Russia and other countries made presentations on the historical and cultural heritage of Shusha.
The opening and plenary sessions of the symposium were held on November 22 at Bulbul House Museum in Shusha. First, chairman of the Organizing Committee of the symposium Dr. Fariz Khalilli spoke about the importance of holding the symposium in Shusha and the value of scientific works of the scientists. He thanked the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Shusha City State Reserve Department, the Memorial Museum in Baku and the House-Museum Bulbul in Shusha. The blessed memory of the martyrs was honored with a moment of silence.
Then Fakhraddin Hajibeyli, director of Bulbul House Museum, Shikar Gasimov, professor of Azerbaijan Technical University, Eynulla Madatli, executive director of Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS, head of department of Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS, professor Kubra Aliyeva, Restorer-architect from Italy, Professor Luigi Scrinzi, an anthropologist from Northern Macedonia, Professor Rubin Zemon, parents of martyrs from the village of Gegeli, Agsu region - Ali Ibishov, Parviz Guliyev, Agil Suleymanov, ethnographer from Shusha - associate professor Parvin Ahenchi, archaeologist, associate professor Vafa Mahmudova and other speakers.
All the speeches made at the symposium were recorded on video and broadcasted on the YouTube channel and Facebook page of the Miras Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage. The collection of materials of the symposium is ready for publication and will be presented in the near future.
The participants of the symposium got acquainted with the historical and architectural monuments of the city of Shusha. First, they got acquainted with the Djidir plain and the mausoleum of Molla Panah Vagif, then the Two-storied caravanserai, the Upper and Lower Govhar Agha mosques, the memorial of the Executed statues, the remains of Khurshidbanu Natevan's house, Ganja gates and fortress walls.
As a result of the symposium, a resolution was adopted. Certificates were awarded to all participants. |
