I International Congress on Turkish Language and Literature held in Bosnia and Herzegovina

I International Congress on Turkish Language and Literature was held on 17-19 May 2013 in Sarajevo City of Bosnia and Herzegovina Federation co-organized by International Burch University. The purpose of the conference was to assist in researches and explorations on Turkic language, literature, history and culture and thereby assuming great significance by holding in Sarajevo city possessing traces of Turkic culture. Thus, Sarajevo being a bridge between Asia and Europe, is the point of contact of East and West languages, literature and culture.
351 participants of 14 countries including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Azerbaijan, Albania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey, North Cyprus an Iraq participated at the conference and 309 scientific reports and proposals were heard.
Though many theses were sent to the conference by the scientists from Azerbaijan, they met difficulties since Bosnia and Herzegovina Federation had no consulate in Azerbaijan. Scientific worker of Linguistics Institute named after Nasimi of National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (NASA), Kubra Guliyeva made a report on “display of some of Turkic root words from linguistics and ethnogenesis scope used in Azerbaijani an modern Tatar languages”, “Researches from Gaiz Burhanaddin creation in Turkic history” by Professor of Nakhchievan State University, Nazakat Ismayilova and scientific worker of Institute of Manuscripts named after Fuzuli of NASA, Shehla Khakilli on “Bosnian Aladdin Sabit”.
At final session of the conference chairman of MIRAS Social Organization Fariz Khalilli speaking on behalf of Azerbaijani delegation noted the conference make closer the scientists researching literature, language and cultural issues of Turkic countries and gives ground for new investigations in the future.
The conference was finished with the concert of chorus ensemble of Fateh Sultan Mehmet, well-known music group of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The participants familiarized with historical an architectural monuments in Sarajevo, Konjic and Mostar cities.
