As sequence of the project of MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage on Medieval Agsu Town Archaeological Tourism Complex’ in 2010-2013, the project ‘Dialogue Center for Science, Culture and Economy-Agsu” has been launched recently. The project consists of several steps and one of them is establishment of Uljug ethnographic estate. The purpose is to achieve enliven and development of handicraft fields found in Medieval Agsu Town again. Announcement of 2014 year an industry encouraged MIRAS Organization for this project and stimulated establishment of another cultural industry object in the region.
With the purpose to improve pottery, a meeting was held with the chief of REF-SAN Isolation Industry and Trade LLC Company of Turkey Republic, Gokhan Karaaslan and his assistant Uğur Polat in Agsu on 12th February, 2014. The guests first familiarized with faience, porcelain, earthen, glass wares shown in Medieval Agsu Town Archaeological Tourism Complex and surveyed pottery ovens and large tendirs in the excavation sites.
Afterwards the guests shared their thoughts and impressions on the pottery workshop to be built in Ulguj Ethnographic estate. The representatives of REF-SAN Company constructing similar workshops in Turkey and other parts of the world till now, stated they would propose various ideas on the pottery soon.
It is notable that, REF-SAN Company was set up in Kutahya city of Turkey Republic in 1992, specialized in pottery and its techniques. The company produces techniques and equipment of ceramics and glass and founds workshops.
