The staff of MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage had been in Chiyni, Gegeli and Ulguj villages of Agsu region on 19-21 April, 2014. The purpose was holding meetings with representatives of local communes of villages and simultaneously monitoring and study of ecological and ethnographical situation within the new project of the organization. The project is directed to creation of notable rural environment from ecological and ethnographic aspect in the example of Chiyni, Ulguj and Gegeli villages of Agsu region, which have different social, economic and cultural level and these villages’ being example to other villages. So, MIRAS Social Organization launched project “clean village-protection of ecological and ethnographic identity with participation of local communes and sustainable development” since March, this year.
The project is realized with support of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Chief of rural municipality, Teyyib Ismayilov, the intellectuals, grey-beards, youth, teachers and schoolchildren of the village and educators in kindergartens participated at the meeting held in Chiyni Village within the project. Representatives of local communes taken part in the survey actively shared views on ecological situation in the village, traditions, similar and distinctive features with other villages, as well as perspectives of restoration of forgotten economy fields. The project members were greeted in Gegeli Village by the chief of region municipality Eldeniz Jalilov and filled in the questionnaire himself. The village population suffered from drinkable water lack interested much in this project, representatives of local commune joined the oral and written survey with excitement and said they are ready for any help for the protect implementation.
Chief of Agsu City Municipality which Ulguj village subordinated, Alimahammad Usubaliyev created conditions for MIRAS members for monitoring and survey in the village. The settlers of Ulguj village stated their attitudes towards ecological situation in the area and proposals on the renovation of their house.
The project members held monitoring and observations in three villages and made certain photos.
In the next step the experts will estimate the situation and trainings will be organized for municipality workers of those villages and the representatives of local communes. Negative influence of garbage on environment, human health and general development of the area and the ways of their prevention will be dealt in the trainings. Relevant recommendations will be worked up in this line. Volunteer groups consisted of members of rural commune will be created later. Clearance work will be carried out in the villages on the basis of the experts’ instructions and the ways of keeping clean rural ecological environment will be found in the future.
