MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage held a seminar entitled “One day of history” in Guba branch of Baku Private Turkish Lyceum on 29 March 2013. The seminar aimed at delivering information to the participants, particularly, lyceum pupils, adults and youth about genocide committed on 31st March 1918.
The seminar was opened by the head of Guba branch of Baku Private Turkish Lyceum run by Çağ Öğretim İşletmeleri, Mustafa Alagozoghlu and informed the guests on the education institution and the done work.
The chairman of MIRAS, PhD Fariz Khalilli spoke about the history of events committed against Azerbaijani Turks in 1918. There dealt with mass massacre in Baku, Guba, Shamakhi, Lankaran, Garabagh, Nakhchievan, Yerevan, South Azerbaijan and in other places where Azerbaijani people are resided; the work of Extraordinary Investigation Commission according to which documents confirming genocide during the year of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, displayed, notice of genocide facts in the document on Caucasus Islam Army, Order on declaration of 31t March 1918 as Genocide of the Azerbaijani people and genocide traces displayed lately in Guba Genocide Cemetery.
Afterwards deputy chairman of MIRAS, Arzu Soltan gave information about the activities of the Organization in the line of study of our history and deliver to next generation and the projects realized by the Organization.
At the end of the seminar the questions of the participants were responded.
Later the participants visited Guba Genocide Cemetery.
