MIRAS Held Training in Agsu

The training-seminar was held on 28 August, 2015 in Agsu city within the project “Tourism Perspectives of Archaeological Monuments and Support to Disabled Rehabilitation” in school-lyceum No. 1 of Agsu City”. In the training the guests were chairperson of GÜLSAM Public Union in Support to Disabled Rehabilitation, Gulnara Salimova, head of ARABAÇI TV, Ilham Maharramov and its correspondent Amid Hasanguliyev. The seminar was opened by representative of Agsu region Executive Power, Kamal Mirzayev. He welcomed the participants and guests and wished success to them. Chairman of MIRAS Social Organization, Phd Fariz Khalilli spoke about the importance of the project “Tourism perspectives of archaeological monuments and support to disabled rehabilitation” funded by Council on State Support to NGOs under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the work done within the project. He also gave information about Medieval Agsu Town Archaeological Tourism Complex, Shikhmazid, Mehravan Caste where archaeological excavation ongoing and their tourism perspectives.
The expert, MIRAS member Gulshen Huseynova, elucidated the results of the surveys in the course of the project and announced 135 respondents’ views over 100 facilities. She also notified the conditions in the region currently for the disabled people and her recommendations and proposals. She also said it would be rational to study reasons and results of the spread of disability widely as a result of diseases like oncology, movement, circulatory system, as well as preparation of illness maps, opening of first aid points, drug-stores, trade centres in the tourism routes, urgency of road infrastructure’s meeting demands of invalids.
Fariz Khalilli shared detailed information on the situation of archaeological monuments, their tourism perspectives and importance of local settlers’ attitude towards the monuments and respects the history. Chairperson of GÜLSAM Public Union in Support to Disabled Rehabilitation, Gulnara Salimova spoke about the activity of the public union she heads, existent inclusive tourism perspectives in the region and called on everybody to unite and to help children to bring up with patriotic spirit.
Ecologist-expert Elmira Abasova in her speech on “The significance of psychological treatment in attitudes of person and society. She noted mistakes done in the behavior with the disabled and compared psychological approach in Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Ilham Maharramov, the head of media channel, ARABAÇI TV which plays bridge role between state bodies and people with physical disabilities in Azerbaijan underscored the importance of inclusive tourism in disabled people’s integration into the society and brought into notice of the participants the shortcomings in this field. Agasalim Azizov, assistant Professor of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, MIRAS Member presenting his inclusive tourism plan of Medieval Agsu Town Archaeological Tourism Complex gave wide information on existent world standards in this field. He noted this is non-analogous in Azerbaijan since the project is applied over archaeological monument for the purposes of inclusive tourism.
2nd course student of Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art, young volunteer and MIRAS member Nurana Alili made a report on “Music Therapy” and dealt with music impact on the human life, its application in the rehabilitation centre in the world practice.

Within the project, on the last day of the seminar-training on 29th August an inclusive tour was arranged in Medieval Agsu Town Archaeological Tourism Complex for the members of Ismayilli Family and Children Centre, Shamakhi Psychoneurology Hospital and GÜLSAM Public Union in Support to Disabled Rehabilitation. 42 people from different age groups in total participated at the event. The younger was 7, while the oldest 70 years old. The event launched with excursion in Medieval Agsu Town Archaeological Tourism Complex. The guests had great impressions on the visit and they took great interest in medieval town-planning and archaeological artifacts. As though, each of them became medieval person. Inclusive tour continued with lunch and music. After the guests watched film “secret of Agsu treasure” by Ilham Tumas, the little members of Ismayilli Family and Children Centre became an archaeologist and launched excavations in the special area near Juma Mosque. The find were documented together with the children and archaeologists. The children stayed contented. Thus the 3rd seminar stage of the project “Tourism perspectives of archaeological monuments and support to disabled rehabilitation” summed up.
